Targeting the Hair Follicles
The laser emits a concentrated beam of light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicles. This light energy is converted into heat, damaging the follicles and inhibiting future hair growth.
Treatment Session
During treatment, the technician adjusts laser settings based on hair color, thickness, location, and skin type. The laser selectively targets hair follicles, leaving surrounding skin undamaged.
Hair Shedding and Regrowth
After treatment, treated hairs shed gradually over weeks. Regrowth may be lighter, finer, and fewer. Multiple sessions, spaced weeks apart, are usually needed for best results, as the laser works best on actively growing hairs.
